Make a film in a day workshop

In this face to face workshop in Brighton you will make your own film (at least one) using moving image, photos, drawings, stop-frame animation, colour, sound, texture and words.
You might want to make a film for a loved one (alive or dead), or send a message in film for a part of yourself, perhaps a younger self.
When I run animation projects in prisons and secure units I often ask participants; 'What do you want to say and who do you want to say it to?
You might want to make a protest film, a love (or hate) film or something that is reflective. The film might be joyful, confused or furious. It might be beautifully polished or an absolute mess.
We will use a variety of techniques, all accessible, experimental, lo-tech and fun. This will include shadows, drawn animation, 35mm 'slide' animation, animated text, animated colour, sound, moving image etc.
Artmaking/storytelling/filmmaking is resistance to this batshit crazy world, it is humanising in this rising culture of cruelty and dehumanisation.
No filmmaking experience neccessary, you will need a smart phone or tablet with the stop motion studio app on it. and a tripod and holder (about £20).

All profits from this workshop (after cost of the the hall) will go towards Animation Stories (https://www.patreon.com/c/AnimationStories/posts) run by Haneen Koraz and others who lead workshops for children and the disabled in unimaginal conditions in Gaza.
The workshop will take place in One Church in Brighton, close to public transport and with a cafe and weekly bustling community saturday market in the vicinity.
